'Band Together' (2024)
 
'Band Together' is an uplifting and energetic piece for massed band, specially commissioned for the 2025 Halifax Youth Band Festival by Elland Silver Band. With influences from pop music and musical theatre, 'Band Together' emphasizes unity and collaboration between bands, as sections of the massed band are featured before coming together at each rousing 'chorus'.
 
The composition also takes influence from the harmony and chords often found in big band jazz, with the piece evolving harmonically to symbolise the joining of forces and the growing achievements of the bands over the years. Weaving together catchy melodic figures and rhythms, as well as hand claps and audience participation, 'Band Together' is a fun, exciting and upbeat concert finisher that encapsulates the joy of making music together.
 
'Band Together' can be performed in a massed band with the additional training band parts provided, and can also be performed in a non-massed band setting.
